Robert is an Airline Transport Pilot and Certified Flight Instructor (CFII, MEI) with nearly 29,000 flight hours, more than 26,800 of them as pilot in command. He flew as a captain for American Airlines from 1985 to 2007 and holds type ratings on the Boeing 737, 757 and 767, the DC-9, the Convair 340 and 440, the Lockheed L-188 Electra and the Learjet series.

He also holds commercial helicopter privileges with an instrument rating, and has flown more than 80 aircraft types, from the J-3 Cub and Stearman to business jets and airliners. Today he flies Part 91 corporate operations and trains pilots with PAS Flight Training, with particular depth on the Piper PA-46 family.
